I know it has been a while, I have been a little distracted. We are going to lanch our frame company in a few weeks called Olive Avenue Frame Company and it is consuming most of my time. I didn't know starting a business would be so much work. Back to the blog, I found a new blog everyone has to check out. This blog gives stuff away! They feature cool products and then do give aways. I hope to have our frames on this site one day soon!

A new find...
I came across this site when looking for design ideas. It is called Spoonflower, http://www.spoonflower.com/ One this site you can shop for fabric, my Grandmother would be so proud, and two you can design your own fabric. How cool! Check it out! I have two pillow forms sitting in my sewing area that still have the plastic around them- I better order some fabric and get going. I did make a large table square the other day with the help of my 2 year old. He likes to push the foot feet like it is a race car- watch out fingers!

Check out these great free printables for Halloween! Add a white frame and there is your decoration. The best thing of all is the designer is from Detroit Lakes, MN near my home town of New York Mils, MN. All you have to do is go to Face Book, find Summit Avenue Design. Like their page and click on the free download button on the left. Download and you are done!

Halloween Decore...
I decided to spruce up the house for Halloween. I the best part it was under $20 to do so! The vase was a find at a Goodwill, I used a little painters tape and spray painted the black stripes. The branches I had and used some blaze orange to make them a little more festive, the sign was a purchase from The Mouse in The Corner Shop http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Mouse-in-the-Corner-Shop/140991702618106, and the lantern I had. The cobweb was $1, the banner was $2.50 at Target. My little man and I had fun putting this together.
Amazing finish...
Check out this before and after of a dresser. It is amazing how you can find an old piece and turn it into such a gem. The top was done with stain, but Home Depot has a new kit that is super cool! You can can refinish wood with out stripping or sanding. The kit is on the spendy side but does an entire kitchen worth of cabinets. For this project you could use the kit to do the top and paint the bottom part of this dresser.
